Service to the WVU community

Phi Kappa Phi logoThe Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, West Virginia University Chapter President

Since 2017, I have served as president of the WVU chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest, and most selective all-discipline honor society, with chapters at more than 300 colleges and universities.

I am faculty advisor for the WVU chapter of IEEE, the professional society for people in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and computer society.

I also serve as faculty advisor for the WVU chapter of oSTEM, an organization dedicating to supporting LGBTQA students in STEM fields.

Service to Statler College

Statler College Computer Committee Member

I have served as the Lane Department's representative to the Statler College Computer Committee since 2018. The committee is responsible for representing faculty computing needs to Statler College IT and the larger WVU IT community.

Statler College Undergraduate Academic Affairs Committee Member

I represent the Computer Science program on Statler College's undergraduate affairs committee since 2021. The committee is charged with review and approval of all proposed changes to coursework and programs within the college.

Service to the Lane Department

Computer Science Undergraduate Curriculum Committee Chair

Since August 2021, I have chaired the undergraduate curriculum committee for the Computer Science program. In this role, I guide individual faculty in developing new courses and updating existing courses, handle administrative requirements for proposed coursework changes, and oversee the overall Computer Science undergraduate curriculum.

During the Spring 2022 semester, the committee began a comprehensive review of our existing curriculum to ensure that it meets the needs of our students and stakeholders. This review is ongoing.
